Thnx.  Have you tried the Esbit-on-the-bottom approach?  Does that work pretty good?

  Alcohol is far more available on the AT than are Esbit tabs, in my experience. 

  I have the Firelite wing stove, nice little stove. 

  Most pepsi-can style alcohol stoves can burn Esbit too -- just turn them over. (This assumes a separate pot stand.)
